I added a few Mods/Hacks to the site today.

- Our database is now automatically backed-up when at least a couple of users are active on a day.
- We can now manage the FAQ of the site
- Edited posts are now marked as Unread. So when you edit a post, the changes are made more noticeable.

We are getting a Jedi Faction here on GalacticLegacyForums. Hopefully they will add a little spice to the Role Play possibilities as well as the Community here. So for the next week or so, if you see a Jedi logged on, be friendly. Say hi and offer assistance. But after that week (until they are set up), they're fair game.

I tried to begin a new Flash Page for our homepage, but have been having trouble with getting it right. So hopefully I can get it right and we'll have a new webpage for when we move to our new domain.

I actually have to retract that statement. I had a major brainwave today and managed to fix the entire problem I was having. Once I get a few more things done, we can move to our new domain and continue on our journey. I'll hopefully be able to get the new homepage up before then for comments. Probably later today/tonight.

I had some free time last night, so I edited our homepage and made it well, quite frankly, "awesome!". Check it out. If it appears that nothing has changed, you need to empty your browsers cache, because it is still trying to use the old version. And items are not the same anymore, so that either creates errors, or uses the wrong version.

The Forum Logo or Main Image at the top, now acts as a link back to the Index. I had removed it before, because it consistently made you log back in whenever you clicked on it, but I figured out the security on it to make it link to the Index without forcing you to log back in.

We have added three new rank images to the listing. We did not add ranks, but you can now choose between 3 rank images for Dark Lord and 2 for Dark Lady.
So if any Dark Lords/Ladies wish to use the alternate images, let me know.

You can now find two items in the upper right hand of the board. Your PM's Inbox link and a list of the Site Staff Members.

Amongst other changes to the headers is the removal of the Portal link, and its replacement with a link to the Flash Home Page. The Portal was removed due to its clashing with our color scheme, and until I can sort out the different themes to make the Portal work, I feel that it was detracting from our overall look.

The Site timeline has also been updated with events preceding the Civil War.

We now have new icons. Which are hopefully easier to read. If you cannot see the new icons at the moment, please refresh your browser. If that fails, you need to purge the cache of this site from your computer, forcing your computer to go out and look for the new images.

Guess what? This update was made possible by the new Quick Reply box that phpBB3.06 kindly includes with their proSilver style. Thanks to my boredom and browsing of the phpBB3.06 update manual, I found it existed. I then moved the proper files over and edited the majority of our forums to allow the box.
The only forums that do not include the Quick Reply box are any Archival forums and the Sponsors forum.

Today was a busy day for Site Updates.

I've edited the style extensively. You may or may not need to refresh your page a few times to see all the changes. Let me know if something conflicts with something else, or just looks bad on your browser. I use the most up to date browser, so some of the new code may work for me and not you. If that is the case, I'll try to fix it.

We also have our chat box back again. It isn't in the footer yet (working on a way to make it a "Show/Hide" thing like the new Quick Reply). But it is functioning. If you look up to the right you'll see menu options: Chat, FAQ, Members, LogOut.

If you click on the "Chat" option you will be brought to the chat page. The chat listing is taken from your user on the site. So no need to sign in.

We are currently undergoing a merger with a child site (hosted by us) Power Of The Sith. Both of our sites have lost members and activity, and we hope that by mergining we can increase both aspects. More information will be made available when the course of action as to how to include the newest members has been made.

We had a small period of downtime earlier today (6PM to 7PM EST). I have yet to receive all the facts, but I believe they were rebooting several SQL servers, mine included. I have not heard if the entire problem is resolved yet, so if you receive a page that says something about a "General Error" and "mysqli" or "SQL Database" just try again in 15 minutes or so. There was a bug in the phpBB3.07PL1 package that caused logins to not redirect properly. This has now been fixed.
